TonyT
Sentencing has been handed down, rather lackluster too https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-49397838 Quote The four 16-year-old boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted criminal damage. Three of them were handed 12-month referral orders and their parents were also ordered to pay £500 in compensation. A fourth boy was told he would be sentenced on 2 September. Out2gtcha
Being ordered to pay a fine of 500 GBP for damage exceeding 30,000 is appalling to say the LEAST. The of age boys should have spent some time in a facility for that, and restitution should have equaled the damage done at LEAST. TonyT
It's not them paying it, it is the parents Myself, I would as in all of these cases have a law where anyone causing damage like this would when they reach working age have a percentage of their wages ( and that would include benefits ) deducted at source by a court order until full reparation had been fulfilled to whom ever it be, the aggrieved or the insurance company that has paid out. Maybe then they will realise that their actions have long reaching consequences that they will be unable to sweep behind them.
