I still can´t leave the early jets/Korean war aera, just so many interesting subjects. i have done an F-80, F-84, F3D, Mig-15, Yak-23, Mig-9, F4U, panther and skyraider, still wanting an F-51, but i am waiting for the release of a later revell kit....

but something is missing, the jet most people think of first when they think of the Korean war

i have the Kinetic kit with Harolds nose, gunpanel, pit and wheels. just ordered the CMK airbrake (i know its for the Hasegawa kit, but it includes the amunition compartment door/crew step that seems to be open on every other Sabre pic)

Sorry Karl, cannot help with the pictures, but I'll surely follow along - this

is going to be a very interesting build (I fancy doing a F-86 myself - one day maybe  ).

started with fitting Harolds corrected gun panel to the forward fuselage, careful cutting through the very thick plastic is in order

CMK makes a nice resin set for the Hasegawa Sabre. it not only contains the airbrake wells and brakes, but also ammunition compartment/crew access step

these parts will fit the Kinetic/italeri kit with minor mods as it turned out. some heavy duty grinding by dremel is on order to make these fit

 

 

size is pretty close

i also cut off the pit floor from the intake

next, the resin sidewalls of the pit were fitted and the pit tub adjusted in height to fit these and the rear deck

being for the hasegawa kit, the ammo compartment will need some fitting, but its secured to the fuselage
