If it were such a great idea, we would have seen someone build and fly one of these things.  I suspect most people that have looked at this idea thought it either suicidal for a human being to get in it or just unworkable.  I chalk this up to sci-fi or fantasy .

Yeah - wonder if anyone has tried a RC flying model of this thing - looked but didn't find - would be interesting to see if there is any chance it would actually fly and be controllable etc.

Well, what was controllable was implementing this system in helicopter mode, several countries have gone into research in the past, like Hughes with his monster helo, and the dutch "kolibrie" design, but using the system in VTOL flight mode, like an aircraft being able to lift off vertically is another story i guess........

There was actually a VTOL tail sitter that flew.  I give you the Convair XFY Pogo.

Although the Pogo used a contrarotating prop to deal with torque issue, the problems encountered while trying to land would have been pretty similar in the FW.

I was just guessing that since they are fiction that the 10% would be more acceptable.

Plus the main octo decals are just circles so the size difference might be less noticable.

Just bought mine off ebay. If the WNW Gothas haven't shipped by the time this kit arrives I think it's going to become an immediate build

Im sure the Hydra decals should also be very easy to make in paint mask form as the shapes are more simplistic and more  silhouette like, and there are only two colors generally.
