Just got to ask, where on earth do you get your reference material from? You must have rolling access to a real one, I would imagine!

95% done with internet photo mining.  I have a few maintenance manuals to help fill in the gaps.  I’ve only seen the jet in person once, the example at Pima, AZ and that jet is closed up, not a great reference.

 Cheers,

Timmy!

that is the most faithful reproduction of every doodad and widget I have ever seen, ever, anywhere..

I would almost wager it is a better representation of the real one than a real one...

quite eyewatering and easy to just get lost looking at all the detail

wonderful - quite simply the best out there

Mighty fine praise coming from a fellow super detailer!

I have enjoyed all you builds and you sir set a pretty high bar that certainly motivates me to build ever better models.

Thanks for checking in!

Hello Boyos!

Quick update I finished up the LRMTS.

It’s a short article this time so head on over here for the complete write up.

Of note the clear cover was milled vs. vacuum formed.

An awe inspiring reproduction of detail you've created, Timmy. Very much looking forward to your progress on this super project.

And I''ve just calculated you'll be making a model over 55 inches long.

And there I was thinking my newly arrived Icelandic 1/32nd Buccaneer was a big beast.

Hello all and thanks again for the fine comments!

Got a good bit of the cockpit done.

Construction article here…

Had a great time working on this. I’ll say this is the first time I’ve added dust and dirt to a model cockpit.  Many photos of these jets show a good bit of dust and dirt and nothing ventured nothing gained so I went for it.  Photos exaggerate the effect, mostly because with so much black paint lots of contrast is needed to see details.

Holy crap! I'm very happy you did that in 1/12th scale and not in 1/32nd. Otherwise, I think a lot of people would stop modelling as this level of detail can not be reproduced by mere mortals! Have you already considered how to reproduce the main landing gear? Because of the kit weight, this will be a challenge as well.
