Any Tamiya 1/32 rumours?

That seems like a no-brainer for Special Hobby.  The HPH kit was, sadly, done from inaccurate drawings, and thus has the same problem with the windscreen and nose that every other kit except the beautiful 1/48 vacuform kit done by the Japanese guy (whose name escapes me).

There are really only two basic variants for SH to do, and we know it would sell...

That is not fully true. The Hph Hornet has indeed such a problem but the nose was redesigned when they released the Sea Hornet. I know it as I mixed sections of both fuselages to make a Mk. 20.

Fascinating to read the desires in the thread some of us have.

A DH Hornet is a pipedream of course...

I still hope for a combo: P-38 or a P-47 prop and a jet (F-18E/F, F-16A/B/D series, new tool F-14). All money makers. Then in 48: F-14A late / B and prop ...who knows...

1/32 Canberra! Followed by a re-boxing and extra sprue for the B-57! For $299, a steal!

Actually, I hope a P-38G/H, followed by the J/L.

Canberra, yes please! Providing it's either the B(I)8 of PR.9 fighter canopy variants (plus, as stated, extras for  B-57).

I believe now there will not be a new Tamiya 1/32 LSP.  Hard to say exactly why but it is a combination of things as in prior years we had pretty solid indicators prior to the show that something was coming by Early May or late April.  I found a YouTube in Japanese that shows the Tamiya Shizuoka show guide with their releases for the show, their is no LSP in the guide.  Also there are no release flyers showing up on facebook and other sites and no product lists showing up that show a new 1/32.

So at this point I am saying odds are highly against a new LSP.

Being traditional Tamiya, they won’t announce anything till the week of the show or even the day of the show. Still keeping my fingers crossed

My wallet is praying for Tamiya to skip the 1/32 WWII kit this year.

A modern jet is fine, I avoid them anyway.

But a new tool 1/32 Tamiya WWII subject would be a compulsory purchase, sight unseen.

I will chime in about a P-38.

If we got a P-38 from Tamiya with their same attention given to the Corsair...I would throw down some money.

While I'm here, I'll also wish Tamiya would do an F4U-4 or -5....or both!

Here is the new release list.  In English the scale of each new product is listed and there are no 1/32 listings.

I am using an iPad and don’t know how to set up translate.  The release list is linked here for anyone that wants to try:  https://www.tamiya.com/japan/newstopics/2019/0511shs_newitem/index.html

There may be a 1/24 new Toyota Supra at the show which is not on the list.  They are doing something with the new Supra but it is not clear what.  I think there won’t be a 1/32 LSP>

There is a 1/350 ship on the list.  But I find this a very mundane subject list by Tamiya standards.  Their are no aircraft listings in any scale.  That is a bit unusual for them as they usually do have an airplane release of some sort at this show.  That will leave a little hope for those wishing for a surprise release but I think odds are against it.

It won’t  be listed, it never is by Tamiya for 1/32, very seldom does Tamiya list aircraft ahead of time, if it does get out somewhere, it’s been leaked out

That is the thing, if you look at the 1st Corsair release, the Mosquito, and the Mustang there was information out ahead of the Hobby show.  I don’t know if there was anything on the Spitfire or the various release but I know for sure we had info on the newer 1/32 release in advance of the show.

I do not know as to the 1/48 release as there are more of them and I am not as sure.  But there has definitely been leading information on the 1/32 releases.  I am not certain that leading information has appeared always on variants but it definitely has with all new releases.
