HB B-24J "Going My Way"

Trolling along, more pics soon.  I have this bombsight  https://www.robertmrozowski.com/https:/www.robertmrozowski.com/shop/1-32-scale-norden-bombsight/ but am not totally sure it would go in a B-24J; looks like it could, though.

There are two mounts, a rather streamlined one and a larger, clunky "early" mount--the direction I'm inclined to go unless I hear otherwise.

Kit bombsights always leave me a bit disappointed, unless they get jazzed up a bit.  They are rather visible after all.

More to come...

Hey Tim

I believe that's the Nordin bomb site and would be the correct one for the B-24s, B-17s and the the B-25s.

Based on some pics I found I figured the same.  It's hard to tell with some of the restored aircraft--there are a lot of things in some of them you wouldn't see in an operational aircraft, like added seats for passengers, creative interior colors, etc (there was a big discussion on other sites about that).

Cheers,

Excellent work on the cockpit, Tim. Especially like the color you chose.

Thanks--

Instrument panel took forever, but was worth it.  Really adds something to the front office.  Stole some assorted PE for other parts of the front section.  Building the multi-part resin bomb sight now.  And I'll add the headrests.  Took me awhile to find good pics that I trusted.

I believe it pivots backward.  You can see from this shot of a 24 at Duxford, there's not all that much room in the nose wheel well.

Thanks!  Found this pretty interesting

Starting at 7:45 they go through a tour of the Lib in flight and right by the retracted nose wheel, still spinning SUPER fast from take off:
