Paint!!!

I have applied the gull grey topcoat. I seem to have applied it a little heavier than I wanted because the preshading has all but disappeared. Oh well.

I am not going to touch this for a week as I have a terrible habit of leaving fingerprints everywhere.

When I do get back to it I will be masking all of the bare metal areas.

well thats looking really nice.

Mr Shark Sir. Thanks for looking in on my humble build.

If I live to be 100 I could never be half the modeler that you are. My tiny little niche is to  model unusual subjects to an acceptable standard. In fact I chose this subject to gain experience with vacforms. I have one of my holy grail kits waiting in the wings. It is a very rare vac form of a very esoteric aircraft. Stay tuned.

Well I couldn't do it, couldn't wait a week for the paint to fully dry.

So I have worked on the squadron markings on the tail. Not too bad, a few touch-ups.

And a self made mask for the tail code.

Well a little progress.

Main markings have been applied.

Since there are no decal sheets for this bird I have had to cobble them together from many sources. My reference photos some stenciling on the topsides and a little more on the bottom. I am just putting on stencils at random trying to capture the overall look.

Once I realized that I installed the wing too high I have set my sights a little lower regarding the overall finish and detail level. It will still look like a Banshee but  it will not be one of my best. However it will almost certainly be the only 1:32 Banshee on any table I put it on. Still on my life-long quest to build the perfect model.

Missed it by that much.

It's better than 'my' Banshee. No wait,  I don't have any Banshee

That's looking quite nice from here Dan

Tail markings are done, except for the serial # and that will be decal work in the near future. You can also see the "M" tailcode which I sprayed on from my homemade stencil.
