Those of you in UK may find this interesting... Inside Hornby BBC4 2100 tonight

Recommended Posts

I missed it.

Please elaborate on on what moulds / tooling they destroyed?

The Telford segment was interesting, there were so many "familiar faces". The Airfix segment was interesting also. No "spilled beans" but when they mentioned that "Airfix are working on new products" there were brief "flashes" of the forthcoming 1/72 Buccaneer and MiG-17 assembled test shots.

It looked like the moulds chosen to be "scrapped" were some old Hornby train items, they did not mention Airfix.

In the eighties, Airfix went through a period when they created some shockingly bad models with raised panel lines, badly-fitting parts, inaccurate shapes, etc. I imagine that if those moulds are still around, "the juice ain't worth the squeeze".

Spotted at least 5 other members of our little Wiltshire model group, and others!!  Looking forward to the fisticuffs in part 2....

Just watched it on record: saw a few people I recognised.  Anyone else spot the music they used as background to the Hellcat at one point?  Clue - it was not necessarily Midway through the programme
