If there is sufficient demand, a cockpit with instrumentation and detailing that better represents Mk.VI and Mk.X aircraft, including a TR.5043 radio, can be offered.

Yes, please. :)

Time to find another Beaufighter kit.

FYI, I have(had) an extra Revell/Lodela Beau Mk.I/TF.X for sale, my daughter has it now prepped for sale on eBay. If we ask nice she might hold for someone here. Includes ADS decals (Mk. I) and Aviology decals (RCAF Mk.TF.X), plus some unknown resin porcupine exhausts, as well as the Lodela vac TF.X conversion parts, PE, and decals. Box is  rough and several parts came off sprues, but all seems to be there. Perfect for this new set. Don't worry, I have two other kits!

Unbelievable.   This classic kit deserves such a nice make over.   You have certainly boost all our interest and happiness into today’s realm.    Well done MM!   Now we need some nice Decals for this beast.

Way cool.

Thank you, everyone!

Seiran01, the model is printed by a Formlabs Form2 3D printer in standard gray resin.  Both are pricey but achieve great detail.

The Beaufighter cockpit is now available (please click here).  Below are some photos of the main cockpit and intra-spar equipment bay/pilot access hatch well.  The first two photos show the cockpit with the supporting sprues and printing "raft" attached.  This is how the customer will receive the model.  The sprues and raft are necessary to print the model and provide strength during shipping.  The supporting sprues are to be removed by the modeler.  The photos following the first two show the cockpit with supporting sprues removed.

Note: Supporting sprue removal, especially from the cockpit floor and intra-spar equipment bay is difficult.  A very sharp cutting instrument such as a new cuticle clipper, and patient, careful cutting are required.  During supporting sprue removal, the old saying, "slow and steady wins the race", applies.  Remaining supporting sprue contact point "nubs" can be carefully scraped or cut away using a sharp hobby knife.

Cockpit instrument bezel diameters are sized to accept 1/32 scale Royal Air Force World War Two-era instrument decals available from Airscale Model Aircraft Enhancements (click here)

Woohoo! Can't thank you enough for seeing this project through to completion.

Order placed for 2 Beau cockpits and some other odds and ends. :)

Now to dust off the half-built Beaufighter that's been languishing for at least 15 years on the Shelf of Doom while all the other guys made big promises that fell through...

Unfortunately, I'm building the thimble nose, I am going to have to make my own masks for it.

So who will be first to start a Beau build in the Multi-engine GB? Won't be me as I unfortunately have my Do-335 build as well as several other builds I need to finish first, but I sure would love to see one done.

Don't forget, my daughter has that Lodela TF.X version sitting waiting along with Aviaology TF.X decals!

There are also decals out there from Ventura and Techmod. The Techmod sheet has two thimble-nose variants.

Thank you all very much, everyone!

The volume of orders received for the cockpits today was nothing less than breathtaking.  Please allow additional time for printing.  My printer can print two cockpits at a time, for possibly 4 sets in a day.  The first two cockpits ordered are in the printer now.  I will print and ship the others in the order in which your orders were received.  Since printing is a slow process, it may take a few days to get your order in the mail.  Thank you for your patience!

Regarding the observers station, thanks to your orders today there is certainly sufficient demand to offer one!  I'm waiting on some reference material which will help me make a more accurately dimensioned observer's station.  I'll get started on that as soon as the references arrive.

In the mean time, I'll finish up the 1/24 scale P-51D Mustang upper cowling design for classic Airfix kits.  The first printing looks very good in shape and profile, perfectly matching factor blueprints, but the model is just a tad bit wide to match the Airfix kit best.  It needs a little dieting to slim to fit.

I'll assemble the Beaufighter model that appears in the photos above tomorrow and post some photos of it fully assembled, minus paint.

Thanks again, everyone!

There is one on one of the Aviaeology sheets.

MM, if I buy the cockpit set now, will I be able to purchase the additional Mk.X parts when I order the observers station?

Hope you do a set of wheels, late tailplane, thimble nose, etc...
