I started with the canopy fairing which is suffering a little bit of the same issue as the 1/48 Hasegawa. EricF Posted February 3, 2019 Author Share Posted February 3, 2019 I focused my attention on the cockpit. I have both Avionics and Aires. After checking my doc, even if the Avionics looks good, I find it too wide in between the consoles. The Aires one has side consoles proportion closer the the real thing than the Avionics. And something leads me to find the solution. Take a look at the pic here below....... The Aires cockpit is too short ! Otherwise it is drop and fit in width and height after some sanding at the bottom. Anyway, it has not the LOX compartment that we find in the Avionics kit So the next step will to adapt it on the Aires kit. EricF Posted February 4, 2019 Author Share Posted February 4, 2019 To avoid troubles when attaching the cockpit tub, I took the option to attach the sidewalls on the fuselage first and not to the tub. I will fill the gaps with Evergreen to center the tub in the fuselage in the end.
