Bill_S
My first WIP in quite a while. The obligatory box top shot. And sprue shots... At this point, I'm unsure of the marking scheme I'll use. Bob's buckles and Gaspatch are the only AM I'll be using. Now to give the instructions the twice over and determine what colors I need! Kagemusha
Well now, what a great choice Bill. Bill_S
Bill_S
... and here we go! All sprues were washed to remove any mold release; holes drilled for bracing wires. Initially, I didn't notice the ejector pin marks on this cockpit frame - they are very slight, but they're there. They will be covered, so I'm not going to worry about them. When I went to drill the holes for the port side, I found that CSM didn't provide the "ears" that were present on the starboard side. Out came the Waldron punches (0.028")... A little trimming, and they were cemented in place. Waiting for them to dry before I attempt to drill through them. That's it for tonight. tucohoward, Bill Cross, Rick Griewski and 4 others

Rick Griewski
My two kits just arrived today and I will be tracking on your build. They look pretty nice out of the box. More kit fondling later today. Rick Bill_S
Bill_S
A couple of different Tamiya tans... Gobs of Windsor&Newton burnt sienna (a tube will last a lifetime). After an hour, I wiped it down with a cotton bud. I'll let it dry for a day or two, then it's time for painting, detailing and bracing cables. On to other parts! Bill_S
I had almost forgotten how much detail painting has to be done on WWI kits prior to assembly! Work progresses... Rick Griewski and Bill Cross
Bill_S
Some more details... Cockpit bracing is complete. I don't much care for passing the EZ-Line back through one of Bob's Buckles tubes! A couple of small parts still to add - I painted them on the sprue. Finally, some assembly. Rudder pedals, control stick and seat still to come... Bill Cross
Really nice. Normally I don't do WIP threads due to time constraints, but this kit interests me. Keep up the good work. Bill_S and Rick Griewski
Bill_S
Nearing completion of the cockpit: Some more wood work... More soon... Trak-Tor, Fvdm, LSP_Kevin and 4 others
Bill_S
A little progress: I got the empennage fitted to the cockpit. The fit is VERY tight; I had to remove paint on the outside of the cockpit frame. Even then, I'm not sure if I got the frame of the cockpit far enough into the tail assembly. Gazzas
Looking good, Bill. What are you using for that interior rigging? Gaz

Gaz That's EZ Line (fine black) with Bob's Buckles, Gaz. I noticed on Bob's website that he has a disclaimer that his products are not compatible with EZ Line; I'm not sure the reason for that - I've never had an issue.
