Out2gtcha
Thanks Ray. Ive just been going over some of the stuff for the scheme I want, and have been looking around to see about how to fit all of Marseille's kill marks on the teeny tiny rudders of the Dornier. May have to give that one some more thought. I actually got some black base down on the props and spinners last night, as I figured that would be a win for me and would delay the inevitable a bit longer (having to re-scribe the whole damn model!). I got the black basing on the props, and then put down a layer of RLM 70 on the props and spinner since 1/2 of the spinners will be RLM 70. Unfortunately I had to use MM enamel for the RLM 70 as I did not have any MRP RLM 70, but soon to come on my next order of MRP paint. I hate to mix enamel and acrylic like that but the the spinners and props are pretty separated from the rest of the build, and I can use a separate wash for them after assembly. Pics on that soon as there wasnt much to show for that stuff yet. Shawn M
BiggTim
I normally hate this plane, but you're actually making it interesting, and your choice of scheme is very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing you paint it. Those tires are the shiznit!! Out2gtcha
Out2gtcha
Thanks again for the kind words guys. Once again, I put off re-scribing. I just really hate re-scribing!! This time I got caught up in the spinners and props. I ended up finishing them all out, as I had to put some masking down to split each with RLM 70 and white. The props got RLM 70 for the blades and gunmetal and aluminum for the hub/center section. After getting all 3 colors down on the props, I got everything assembled: All for now, I'm off to the store to pick up a few things for the fiance, then it's off to They Shall Not Grow Old later tonight. After we get back from the movie I'll likely be back on the Do-335 tonight. Cheers! LSP_Kevin, MikeMaben, mark31 and 11 others

Out2gtcha
Thanks kindly fellows. Kev, Neither am I honestly, and as this is my first one, it's really all new to me. It sure didnt take long to get used to doing exactly whatever I want, however I want though!
Alain Gadbois
Those scoops are so well thought out (and crafted!) that I would not be surprised if they appeared for real on the Do335 if the war had lasted longer. Alain Out2gtcha

Out2gtcha
Thanks guys, very kind of you. I've had my first bit tribulation on the build so far............. I drilled out the rear beacon light for some color inside the clear part, that attached in between the two rad exit vents. However, I drilled a bit too deeply into the section that comes to a point at the end, and damn near sanded through the entire clear light. At that point I had two choices: 1 - cut out the half circle light, and replace with some kind of clear stock, re-drill and re-shape the entire thing. I was not too keen on trying this first, as it was already well cemented in, and getting it out was going to risk damage, not too mention I didnt have any clear round or 1/2 round stock atm, and shaping square stock would have been a huge PITA. 2 - Add some clear resin over the top of the whole thing and re-shape to my satisfaction. Considering I had previous good luck using clear resin to save my Extra 300 SC build, and it was easier than ripping the whole thing out, that is what I tried first. The resin I use is a clear two part casting epoxy resin: Just a simple matter of mixing up equal parts and applying some to the area over the top of the light and on up into the surrounding area, so later once dry, I can lightly sand the whole thing then finish sand and polish the light part: Later I will sand and smooth these out and polish the light. Prior to getting the resin on, I did some final fit adjustment to the rear engine scoops and added some screens. Then did a fit up with the rear engine intake feed and sand filter to make sure I had clean air getting to each and they fit well in situ together: I still have to get the sand filter mounts sorted, as the mount section will have to have some sort of base to peg into on the fuselage, because the engine panel needs to lift up and away, with the sand filter attached. I plan on putting some PE sections on the forward fuselage, that the sand filter mounts will "plug" into and look as if the sand filter can some away from them for maintenance when the engine cover is open. Next up on the docket is to sand the rear light area smooth, finish re-scribing the starboard wing and flying surfaces then re-scribe the fuselage. After that, it will be time for assembly, then on to my favorite part, paint! Cheers till next time! spacewolf, BiggTim, MikeMaben and 9 others
