vvwse4
Count me in. Knew I had the old Revell kit somewhere and dug it up. I want to make it in the markings of the Beaufighter of the 29th Fighter Squadron flown by Guy Gibson in 1940 1941. 110_4402 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_4399 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_4401 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_4400 by Rick Martens, on Flickr That is what I have to work with And it will come out something like this R7673 by Rick Martens, on Flickr Was the serial indeed R7673? Iain
Oooh - another one I'll be following closely - the Beau deserves more attention than it gets and the Revell kit isn't a bad basis. Have fun! Iain wunwinglow
Rick Griewski
I ready like these old kits, this one in particular. Crunched box, parts off on their own in the box, beer stained instructions and replaceable decals. Should be fun. Rick
1to1scale
Great choice, I have the Lodella/Revell issue with the PE and Vac, I plan to build mine after the B-24, so I will be closely watching.

Sepp
Rick - according to Bruce Robertson's "British Military Aircraft Serials 1878-1987", R7673 was a Typhoon 1A (or poss 1B) which was later (if I'm reading the notes right) given maintenance airframe no. 4632M. [Edit to add] X7673 was a Beaufighter Mk. I Hope this helps! Edited January 25, 2019 by Sepp
vvwse4
Hello everybody, I am still working on the Beaufighter. As usual the out of the box thing went out of the window. I decided to rescribe the whole thing because it looks better and I have never done anything like that before. There are a lot of books and references but somehow every book I have and read tells something different. I am quite happy how it turned out but it took forever, Too bad I shoot lousy pictures but I hope that you like what I have done so far. 110_5502 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5503 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5504 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5505 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5506 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5507 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5511 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5512 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5513 by Rick Martens, on Flickr 110_5514 by Rick Martens, on Flickr Next will be the interieur and the landing gear. I will try to scratch most of the interieur without the use of afermarket stuff. The kit is from 1974, the engines and the landing gear look quite allright to me so it will not take to much effort to make those look decent. The interieur however does not look like anything I have seen in books so far so that is a challenge. Rick. mozart
Well done Rick, that's a lot of re-scribing, no wonder it took forever - but it looks very well done and is worth all the effort for sure. Out2gtcha
Out2gtcha
Lovely work so far Rick! This will be my first job when it comes time to build my Beauf. Did you sand down the raised panel lines first, then remark all the lines individually, or did you rescribe recessed lines next to the raised ones and then sand off the raised ones? I sanded everything down and after that I drew everyting on with a pencil, after that I did the rescribing. I do not know if it is all that accurate due to the fact that there are a lot of different references.
