I don’t know what I enjoy more Carl, catching up on your builds or playing ‘where’s Waldo’ in the background of your workbench! Makes me feel good as mine looks the same :speak_cool:

Thanks! I've got bits from all sorts of kits that I've got on the go sitting on and around my bench. I'm amazed sometimes I can find what I need when I do.

well done!

Glad to see you didn't mess up the landing gear like I did.

Thanks Shawn! Glad to hear you'll be able to work around yours. This kit really wants to fight you on the instructions.

Looks great Carl! Nice and snug!

Nice fix on the nose.

Thanks Dan! Easier this way than filling and sanding down the step later.

Ok, I found another mistake in the instructions. When assembling the tailplanes, they tell you to install the tailwheel and fairing onto the tailplanes and then the completed subassembly onto the fuselage.

If you do this, you won't be able to get the tailplane on. The tailwheel has to go on after the lower fairing is installed on the fuselage. It goes through the fairing and into a socket on the fuselage.

Doing it this way, everything fits nicely and you have a reasonably sturdy tailwheel.

I used the Eduard mask set for the canopy. This time they made the mistake rather than Dragon. The masks for the windshield and the rear gunner's screen are split unnecessarily in a couple places. There is an internal framework on both of those sections and the masks interpret it as being an exterior one. Not a hard fix at all but a bit surprising. You just need to mask both the inside and the outside of the screens.

I installed the gunsight into the cockpit and then the windscreen went on.

At this point, I painted the upper surfaces in RLM02, which I then masked off for RLM70.

Followed by some squiggles!

I have some of those to do but it's working out I think.

Looking good! How well do those AK paints go on?

Thanks Ray! I'm finding that the AK paints spray really well. They behave very similarly to Gunze Mr Color. They're a bit thicker so you need to thin them more but that's it.
