npb748r
now that my Lancaster is on its way (hopefully due tomorrow) I wondered if anybody has any recommendations for some decent books on the subject ?? Most of my reference books are multi-aircraft, I have nothing on the Lancaster specifically. Would like some decent pictures/drawings and technical references if possible to help with the build. thanks in advance neil alanash1963
npb748r
I guess with the Liberator expected shortly I should expand the question to that aircraft as well - I have even less reference in my bookcase on the B24 !
LSP_Ron
The Haynes book is excellent 32tragic and npb748r 1
32tragic
This is my current Lanc library. If you are after markings, "Ton-up Lancs" and "Lancaster Squadrons" are excellent. And for a 617Sqdn Lanc from a modelling perspective, "Dambuster Lancaster" can't be beaten. mozart
The Avro Lancaster, Manchester and Lincoln Datafile by Richard A Franks is pretty good, a SAM Publication. Lots of detail drawings and photographs as well as type history and development. npb748r and Alain Gadbois 1

Lancman
The Lancaster at War series are good books 5 in all and you can usually pick them up cheap second hand. npb748r
MikeC
It will only be of interest to some, but there is also Avro Lancaster, Lincoln and York in Post-War RAF Service 1945-1950, Martin Derry, published by Dalrymple & Verdun. ISBN 978-1-905414-13-0. White over black, Coastal Command, what's not to like?
