Mostly Hasegawa kits - bult their Spitfire, Tony and BF-109G. All are terrific . just started Hasegawa | F6F3/5 Hellcat Reviewed by Jeffrey Brundt he states it looks big but is to scale. Well I checked it 10.2M 1/1 converted to mm 1/32 scale and I got 318 mm wingspan. I just measured the kit wingspan..it is over 400mm!! the Pilot figure is huge... williamj Posted December 12, 2018 Share Posted December 12, 2018 (edited) Funny you should bring this up..When we built the kit quite a number of years ago thought it was it was a bit too big for 1/32 as well..but I did like how it was rendered (shape of it). Could be around 1/30, 1/29 th. But it was released back in the 70's so....... And you're right..the pilot is hilarious. just checked my kit in the stash. I am one who doesn't give a rats patoot if it is a few mm off one way other. Looks like a Hellcat when finished (3 foot rule). This Hellcat is so far out of scale....just cannot add it in. I agree..no big deal..but...when stacking them next to each other..it is a BIG DEAL. The wingspan in 1/32 scale should be 16.0625" (408 mm) and it is exactly that. Full scale wingspan is 42' 10" (13.0556 meters).
