Tolga ULGUR
9 hours ago, Jennings Heilig said: Tolga - looking great so far. I was just doing some reading on the plastic seat. That seat wasn’t available to the factory until May 1940. I believe the TuAF aircraft were from the L serial number block, which were built in 1939. Thus, they had the metal seat, which Edgar Brooks (the late Spitfire boffin of all Spitfire boffins) said were found in both interior grey-green and black. Hope it’s not too late... Thanks for the warning Jennings. I have already installed it into the cockpit but not taken pictures yet. Due to my sources, Turkey ordered 15 Spitfire Mk1, but due to British Defence requirements after the outbreak of WWII, delivery of the aircraft was cancelled and only two of this order were received in May 1940. These were carrying turkish serials 2902 and 2903. And before that, on september 1939 a single aircraft ( L1066) from the Polish order had arrived in Turkey. (This is #2901 seen in the picture) Later in December 1940 they were withdrawn from service due to lack of spares. In 1942 two Mk.I (2902 and 2903) were returned to RAFME as HK954 and HK956 EX RAF Serial number of 2902 and 2903 were P9566 & 67. So in these circumtences I have decided to finish this as 2902 which is seen in the reference picture. Martinnfb
