kkarlsen
It's time for a little update. Been working on the wings on an off, trying to get an acceptable finish before painting. So I'm starting to add some wood grain to the spars and ribs, keeping it light. I intend to use Uschi von der Rosten veneer decals for the leading edges of the wings... Thank you Thomas, I'm struggling a bit with the fragile parts, this project has really brought me to the edges of my skills and a little further too, way beyond my comfort zone... DonH
Yep, that's great work on the wood grain. I will be interested to see how you get on with the wood grain decals. That's way beyond my comfort zone for sure. kkarlsen
Troy Molitor
Lovely efforts going on here Kent. I’m also looking forward to the wood grain L.E. Troy kkarlsen

I don't fancy them but that is because I have trouble getting a roundel decal to sit on a wing! kkarlsen
Trak-Tor
Excellent, Kent! I'm sure you can master the decals too. If you can't do that, they would be useless, wouldn't they? Juraj kkarlsen
Fvdm
Awesome work Kent. If you don't have problems with decals i expect you don't get problems with the wooddecals. Just go for it. kkarlsen
kkarlsen
Working on the Oberursel engine... Different stages of the engine detailing, spark plugs + scratched lifter arms. Engines are painted with 'oily steel' dark/black wash + 'fresh engine oil' - Exhaust pipes are painted with Alclad exhaust manifold. Cheers: Kent D.B. BiggTim
Very nice! So how did you do the different "stage" shots in the same frame without multiples? kkarlsen, Trak-Tor and D.B. Andrus 2

Tsk, tsk, I found it funny to display the work like this. I'm actually doing five engines at one time, for a larger 'Flying Circus' project...
