robertmro
That makes me very happy because I thought the project was canceled. I just hope it’s as great as the original.
Gazzas
Well... We need more war movies. But do we need another one where there is just an unseen enemy? Hopefully it's better than Dunkirk. Erwin

vince14
It isn't necessarily back on. All Jackson has said is that he hopes to re-start production soon, because he only has the rights for another couple of years. The interviews he's done regarding The Dambusters seem to be aimed at drumming up the finance from a studio. williamj

Gazzas
Personally, I think any contested day raid would make a better movie then bombers flying in the dark and skipping some cool bombs over water. One just might be able to see why funding is hard to come by. Here's my movie idea: 1943: USAAF day raids over Germany suffer dreadful casualties once the escort turns for home. (insert carnage) Finally, USAAF gets drop tanks on the Jug. Luftwaffe fighters begin to wreak havoc yet again... (insert carnage) Uh, oh... Was ist Das? Jugs attack completely taken-by-surprise Luftwaffe (Insert Carnage) Jugs and bombers fly home victorious. But... as interest in the past we find interesting diminishes, hollywierd will continue to churn out comic book heroes, Transformers, and Chick flicks. We're boned. GrahamF
I'm not over excited by a new Dambusters film to be honest, Knowing that it's mostly CGI and a timber MDF made replica aircraft, doesn't do it for me, especially since the original used real aircraft. Gaz Isn't that what the 'Mighty Eighth' film/tv show (same lines as Band of Brothers) meant to be about? LSP_Matt
I'm looking forward to it. I think a movie on the St Nazaire Raid would be absolutely epic. Done in episodic phases like LOTR/Hobbit. So many characters and arcs withing the whole overall mission. Matty Alain Gadbois

mozart
Having researched Bomber Command operations in general and one specifically for the past 13 years including speaking to many who were there and did it, I get a bit p****d off with the attention given to this one operation which, whilst undoubtedly daring, technically brilliant and taking nothing away from the heroism of the crews, actually achieved relatively little in the great scheme of things.
