PhilB
I was surprised reading a recent book about how the NF Mossies took a heavy toll on the FW190 nightfighters even in a straight fight.
John1
8 hours ago, Jennings Heilig said: From AA fire sure. But no German fighter could catch a Mosquito going flat out unless he was really lucky to be in the right place at just the right time. Again, that definitely applied to "clean" bomber and recon variants but when they got burdened down with rockets and started flying strike missions at low level, they took their share of losses from enemy aircraft. Of course by that time of the war, the Luftwaffe was a shell of it's former self.
gwana
If you get hit flying a low level strike mission, you probably won't have time to consider popping a hatch anywhere. "We're hit!" ~splash~
