Yeah, I noticed that the color photo Finn posted was a Korean war era pic. It shows the HVAR rocket motor to be a grey-ish color. Dana Bell's book has an awesome color pic of HVAR's being loaded on a Corsair circa 1945 and those motors are clearly a dull lsilver (either painted or NMF).
