Gazzas
Hi everyone, Time to start another armored kit. I have another aircraft started but it's in smaller scale. The victim: Gonna be a long road... Lots of parts. Thanks for looking! CATCplSlade
I actually built the pre-zimmerited version of this kit a few years back. Are you doing the standard or command version? Gazzas
LSP_K2
Lots of cool stuff built on the IV chassis, my favorite being the flakpanzer with quad 20mm cannons. Gazzas

Are you doing the standard or command version? I haven't really decided yet. The Dragon Star Antenna looks like an invitation to disaster. I could try soldering one up... but then I'd have to taper 5 different parts... LOL... looking less and less like the command version. I don;t mind applying a little artistic license with one of the lessor vehicles, say a little later in the war with a bit of Schurzen dropped off and some heavy battle chipping of the Zimmerit. Who knows... Gaz LSP_K2

I'm a big fan of both Whirblewind and Ostwind. Monogram had a Ostwind back in the 70's that had a crew in the turret in firing poses.
Hardcore
Did they really apply zimmerit behind the running gear?
Eagle Driver
Me like some STUPA! Gazzas

What, this?: I sold mine to one of my 21st Century Toys collecting buddies and replaced it with the Dragon version. Gazzas and Out2gtcha

Careful how you attach them and you can do it and even change it up if you want. I actually added my schurzen about six months after finishing the tank itself. You can be pretty haphazard with it, too, as you can see as they applied it after the suspension was mounted. Looks like you are off to a good start, Gaz! Daniel460
Excellent work on the Zim! That tool looks better then most I've seen. I usually wuss out and get a Cavalier set! Dan LSP_K2 and Gazzas

Plenty of room there to stick a magnetic anti-tank mine. Too bad the Allies were never desperate enough to use them. Gaz LSP_K2
LSP_Ray
Well, the Russians were, and that is why the Germans applied it. You heard the story about the anti-tank dogs, didn't you? LSP_K2

The modelling putty I use is great for the chipped-zimmerit look as it's acrylic paste (i think) and doesn't bite into the plastic. This will be a useful photo!
