Well...  I'm glad some people got the kit they wanted.  No boo-hoos here....  I've got like three years of stash to play with.  I've got A Roden Dr.I with AM and no great drive to paint it red.

Hopefully I'll have less stash when WnW announces their next release.

Gaz

Actually only two of the Baron’s Dr.1s were solid red. One he flew in exhibition which was preserved in Berlin until destroyed in Alied bombing during WW2, and the one he died in.

No one said Bl**dy Paralyzer? Isn't that the nickname of the 0/400?

This guy is so big I can't even imagine where to put it. It's like building a modern 1/32 scale airliner. Crazy big.

I guess they follow the rule "Go big or go home".

The thing about models is only a portion of what is sold are actually built. Intention to build is a lot different to actually doing so.

So as a specialist model company you can produce increasingly large kits of big subjects probably knowing that proportionally few will end up being built. As long as the box is a manageable size all is good...

stick a virtual hand up if you have a stash of kits in 2-3 figures. Or your model output rate is lower than your model kit buying rate....

My stash is just over 300, but I pump out roughly one a month (admittedly, it's primarily armor) so I have about ten years to empty the supply pool and my wants have slowly been decreasing as I limit myself to just WWII subjects.

Mine will be built, so I guess that makes me an outlier.

This guy (Peter Jackson) just won't build non English and German airplanes, will he!?

This is an interesting release, but this aircraft is an aesthetic eyesore and it's freaking huge.

I'd rather take a stab at the Lancaster if we're going "stupid big" in the land of WNW.

On a bright note: that Felixstowe I lust after is shrinking with every new WNW release!  Seems much more realistic a display candidate now!

Actually, there are three non German and British planes produced by WnWs, the American built DH.9a ‘Ninak’, and a French Samson 2-A2 and an American Samson 2-A2, although also French built, is released as a separate kit.

I think almost all of the DH.9a were built in Britain, but had a US Liberty engine.  Few US built ones were actually completed.  The Samson is the odd man out.

4thed.  Im about 99.99999% sure they wont though, which to me is a bit odd still. Even having the decent (but still not outstanding) Roden offering, that you really have a hard time finding these days and the obvious want from a lot of WnW customers is there as well.

I know they are not sales driven but come ON guys.  A WnW DR.1 would be E P I C, and sell as well as any kit they have produced.

And be sold out or out of production before you could blink an eye.

Your right, the Felixstowe is almost 'tiny' compared to these 'monsters' they are huge!!!

I really don’t want to go larger than my Gotha. No 400s, Zeppelin Staakens, or Felixstowes for me, Thank you.

When I first went to 1/32 my limit was 40cm (Re8, LVG) and I was pushing it with the FE at 45cm, so I understand.

Some of the bigger a/c have detachable wings, which helps. Some even seem to fit into their original boxes with the wings off. I wouldn’t know because mine are still in their plastic baggies. I just gaze at them in awe once in a while and imagine what could be.  But even unbuilt the Felixstowe and AEG are amazing to behold on their sprues. Maybe the same is true of the HP 400 but I’m going to pass and spend the money on 2 Halbies and aces re-issues.
