Gazzas
Hi everyone, . Putting a cockpit on a model, and I had to use some CA to attach a piece of PE. I used some Tamiya CA accelerator, though I have no idea if that effects fogging time. How long should I wait to seal up the canopy? Thanks, Gaz Out2gtcha
Out2gtcha
If the canopy has Future in it, the CA fumes wont touch it. If not I'd probably wait at least 3 hours. If it were me, I personally would probably wait overnight, but then I'm never in that much of a hurry Gazzas and Daniel Leduc
1to1scale
I have a very good answer for you I discovered by accident 35 years ago. I had attached clear windows in a model car I built with a metric ton of CA glue, after I did it I realized my mistake, forgetting about the fogging issue. So I set the body and windows in front of a fan blowing out the window, two days later, no fogging! Typically, CA, glues will off gas and cure in about 24 hrs, but can take up to 2 weeks to fully off gas. So I would give it at least 24 hours in front of a fan, or 72 hrs sitting on the bench, after that the off gassing will be minimal.
