Rowen Posted October 11, 2018 Share Posted October 11, 2018 All, I was surfing this afternoon and came across this article online: https://www.cnn.com/style/article/iwm-ww2-color-photography/index.html Note frames #4 (P-51) and #8 (Lancaster). The image of the Lancaster is interesting. It appears that these bombers, on the assembly line, have already been painted in their camo over black scheme. Note that the black does NOT look gloss. This is a factory image, too. So it would appear that flat paint was used from the start. I see a lot of gloss on models.
