Daniel460
Hi Folks, Is there any Defiant kits in the works? I believe I read somewhere that there maybe a kit coming out? I'm wanting to order a Tigger Vac kit, but with the cost of the kit and shipping....the book and a set of plans it gets expensive. I'm thinking I might wait if there is a kit in the works somewhere. Erwin
I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants a Defiant. Edited October 3, 2018 by Erwin Daniel460, Rick Griewski, wunwinglow and 1 other
thierry laurent
We are in the same boat! Well, to reply to your question: not as far as I know and this is a pity. This is typically a topic for the Eastern companies like Special Hobby or Fly. However, SH is committed to the Hawker fighter line and besides the Whirlwind they should release next year I am afraid they won't probably produce another type of Brit ww2 fighter before years (even if I would love to be wrong). Currently you have the Tigger vacform and the resin Scratchbuilders kit that is Oop for at least 15 years and asking for heavy prices while the kit is so-so. I am sure we will get an injected one but I have no clue when... Daniel460
Troy Molitor
The Defiant would certainly be a must have kit for a lot of us. With all the entusiasum on the four engine bombers coming out in the near future, I would think a Defiant would sell at a much higher ratio than any bomber would. Just my opinion, obviously. I can’t see purchasing a four engine bomber (however nice they will be ) do to the size and space limitations while I’m in Singapore. The flip side to all this banter. I get to see multiple builds from the rest of you bomber geeks! Let the fun begin. Daniel460 and alanash1963
dennismcc
The Whirlwind and Defiant are top of my wish list for WW2 RAF/FAA aircraft kits, there is always money in my wallet for a Defiant whenever someone brings out a mainstream kit. Tony T
It may be the kind of kit Trumpeter do in the not too distant future as the market seems to be picking up. Is their 1/48 Defiant any good, as that would likely form the basis of a potential 1/32 one? Am in the same boat with the Tigger vacform Su-15 Flagon. Waiting to buy two of the Fly Su-7 Fitter as it will have a lot of parts to help make the Su-15 Flagon A doable as well as give me a Su-7. Tony . Daniel460
Thanks Gents.... I don't mind any of the new-never before kits being made like the bombers. It's the release of another 109, 190, corsair, mustang....etc. Let the AM guys release the updates for a new version. There are so many great "un-kitted" subjects out there. The Defiant even without the turret is a sweet looking aircraft. I think I'll get a text off to Tigger... Dan Tony T
DeanKB
I'd buy a Defiant. But then again, the market for crap British WWII two seat fighters is a bit thin.

I would love one too! But having conducted a lot of research I don't agree that the type was crap. It was designed as a bomber destroyer and it excelled at this when escorted and flown competently (264 squadron developed defensive and aggressive tactics that worked well)
Chek
The Airfix 1/48 Defiant looks great just adding Master slot-sleeved MG barrels. A 1/32 version that had designed-in scale moving ramps to display various configurations all in one model, together with a good representation of '30s panel beating would be very nice. LSP_Ray
At least to keep you occupied while you wait for a 1/32nd Defiant, Fisher is pretty well along on a 1/32nd Firefly V... Rick Griewski and R Palimaka

Nope doesn't appeal to me as it's post war, if it was a BPF example I could get interested. Cheers Dennis
Suresh Nathan
Hi Dan, I built the Tigger (ID) model a few months ago and am even now constantly tinkering with it. HPM is making a detail set for the turret, cockpit and undercarriage which I helped fabricate. Its featured in this build: https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=3289 Honestly with not that much effort you get a pretty decent model of this highly historical but neglected plane! gunnyax
Special Hobby is doing a whirlwind, maybe they do a Bolton Paul Defiant. Two kits on my list that I want to build. Daniel460 and Out2gtcha

Suresh Well, if the landing gear and propeller were included , this would indeed lessen the effort! ;-) Daniel460
