Fly front with hatches opened, Trumpeter engine assembled and some scratched parts for the opened left engine. Fitting the engine to the nacelle. So this is were all the time went: Plumbing of the Jumo 004 engines. I have been trying to follow the wonderful 'Plumbing Guide' made by Chris Wimmer (thanks Chris) https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=2336 Still some tubes to connect and some wiring, but it's getting there... If so, have you added the exhaust stubs at the sides of the front bullet fairings that covers the Riedel starters? alaninaustria Posted October 21, 2018 Share Posted October 21, 2018 Hi Kent, I had a look at my photos from the Udvar Hazy Museum - the Jumos have the two holes and short stubby (two-stroke) exhausts for the Riedel Starter motors in each engine (located at the very front of the air intake bullet fairing). The pull-handles are also there - for the manual hand starting of the Riedel starter motors. If you’ve come this far with such beautiful detailing of the engines, it wouldn’t be too much more work to add the exhausts for the Riedels? Beautiful work as always mate! kkarlsen Posted October 22, 2018 Author Share Posted October 22, 2018 (edited) Hi, again, while doing the last detailing of the engines I came across the only difference I've noticed on the Jumo 004 installation of the Arado 234 vs Me 262. In these photos (the only ones I've seen of an Arado Jumo) The exhaust/air intake from what I believe is the generator (Chris Wimmer) is different... A corresponding picture of the outside cowling of the Arado, I think this intake is for the generator. The kit has this intake on top of the cowling, so I made a new tube from the generator to fit h´the intake...
