scvrobeson
Already looks fantastic. Really looking forward to seeing the detail painting done. Do not envy how intricate the masking will be though Matt kkarlsen

MikeA
Those scratch built parts are just so good! Thanks for sharing the development process. Certainly a lot more planned than my “build it half a dozen times and then just live with it” approach. Am taking notes on this! kkarlsen

kkarlsen
So while waiting for the fuselage to dry, the project got sidetracked... Some time ago I stumbled across some very intriguing photos of an engine being replaced on an Arado. The engine is being mounted under the wing, using a portable crane. Somewhere I read, that the Jumo engines only had about 10 hour's of flying before being changed? You know me, this was simply too much of a temptation ;-) Just had to try, if it would be possible to scratchbuild one of those cranes... Drawing up a plan to fit 1/32, I started cutting up two different sizes of styrene rods and gluing them together. After some trial and error, I started to find some techniques that worked... The first two top crane parts have come together. the vertical parts. Yes it required some patience and I was still not sure if they all would fit together in the end... The wheels were cast in resin after working a template, they go two and two together... The parts are coming together. The bottom parts in the left corner were very fiddly and had to be reworked a couple of times. Next up: Assembly... Phew, it worked, some minor adjustments, but it finally came together..
