Marcin_Matejko
Hello again friends, A few years have passed since the time when I built the last airplane model (Laird Turner "Meteor"). During this time, I enlarged the family and built one model of the tank (temporary loss of consciousness ). Time for a new project, this time it will be the racing Keith Rider R-6 "Eight ball" in the original configuration from 1938. For those not deluded into the racing history of aviation, I put the following picture. ( (link to the photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/eaamuseum/5877284252/in/photostream) This aircraft had a very beautiful and carefully aerodynamically developed line. The drawing of this airplane will be like this: The plane has survived to this day in the museum, but already in the version after the conversion (new wings, flaps, propeller, engine cover, etc.). The original design was nicer but it did not fly too well so thorough changes were necessary. (Photo: Roger Syratt) If you have any photos of this airplane, its details (especially cockpit equipment), I would be very grateful for the help and access to the photo. The model is made of plastic plates of different thickness. What I have done so far presents further pictures. At the moment, only that is done. Best regards Marcin Starfighter, Lee White, Cheetah11 and 16 others

ericg
Great stuff! What sort of plastic are you using and what glue? I assume the red piece is to delineate the middle and if so, how are you able to seperate the parts? cheers, Eric

Marcin_Matejko
Thanks Plastic is a standard polystyrene. The plates are glued with CA glue. The red line defines the symmetry and divides the hull into two halves. At this point, the elements are glued only with small spots of glue. After the shape of the hull, I split the halves by punching the knife in place. Gene
Fascinating build and process - looks very promising. One may not realize the diminutive size to the plane, but that #11 X-acto tells the tale!
