Dandiego
Incremental progress. Japanese F-15s sometimes carry the AAM-5 missile. Here is my attempt to reproduce this missile. Basically a AIM-9 Sidewinder body with new fins. Some final shots of the fuel tanks with some additional markings. And a little creative work on a small shelf that goes in the rear portion of the canopy that is not included in the kit. Dandiego
Pods and stuff. I decided to start over on the Aam-5. I started over with a plastic tube and added fins. This seemed cleaner than using a missile from the parts bin. Anyway sprayed it gloss white and then masked it and added the other colors. And last are the aerials on the ACM pod. Thanks, Dan LSP_Kevin
Dandiego
Last little details as I get near the finish line. Cockpit and canopy complete. Canopy locks are from fine wire. Second wing tank installed. Alq-131 pod from AMS resin, painted and installed. Missile attachment areas with "C" clamps. Final photos in a day or so. Dandiego
Finished! Nice, older kit. Good fit throughout. Biggest issues...Seats, exhaust cones, no rivet detail, no fuel tanks, Decals had too much "oozy" glue. More later in RFI section.
