Alain Gadbois
Great choice! I was just discussing possible aircraft types for the GB with a friend and the Fi 156 came up as a good candidate! Iconic for sure! Alain
Jack
I saw one a whole lot of years ago at Duxford, it put on take-off power.......and almost climbed like a Harrier, fully horizontal in flight, due to a smashing headwind at that time, and it also made such a "vertical" landing , amazing aircraft. Have fun building Erwin.......... Erwin and KiwiZac

Erwin
The most ugliest thing they could ever put on the Storch. A radial engine. Edited September 30, 2018 by Erwin BradG and MikeMaben 1
Gazzas
I don't know that anyone in the world makes inverted vee engines anymore. For that matter... I don't know what possessed the Germans to go inverted vee at all. Anyone know? Gaz

When your aircraft has a long nose, one inch in cowling height translates to less visibility in front. Inverted V engines usually had a lower profile than regular the V ones. Using the Merlin on the Hispano 109 (HA-1112) and the DB605 on the German ones, you can see the difference. Jager
I agree the radial engine ruins the Storch lines. But after the war French airframe production continued utilizing a radial engine. The aircraft was designated the Morane Saulnier MS-502. My understanding it was a very popular glider tow aircraft. Regardless, it is You-gly with the radial engine.
