GMK
Started getting into 3D printing. Very steep learning curve - and best learned with some CAD from the net (thanks Thingiverse!). Always wanted a giant Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine, but didn’t like the pose of the Games Workshop’s 120mm figure, even when it was in production. Solution? 3D print a 200mm/8” tall one (after the one piece 100mm print failed). Fail :,( Better... Pieces three of nine (with failed little brother): Looks like it may just work! GMK
Some prints over the weekend: Two pieces ~ about 20 hours of printing ~ left. Then it’ll be time prime, clean up, and paint. TorbenD, Nick32, LSP_Kevin and 1 other

Out2gtcha
Looks great me thinks...................definitely the way the hobby is heading and I for one am glad! I think things like this will make scratch building and parts supplementation for custom kits very nice in the future. I also think the DPI/step level (like all technologies) will improve too while at the same time costs will eventually come down a bit once the technology gets more wide spread home use. Thanks for sharing GMK
GMK
Thank you gentlemen. AM means filling & sanding. LOTS of filling & sanding. still have to glue the arms, but there’s some detail to restore. LSP_Kevin and TorbenD
SCRATCH BUILDER
Nice work! I found that printing as many individual pieces as i could made sanding easier, but you right, FDM=filling and sanding, filling and sanding, filling and sanding, filling and sanding. GMK
Thanks. You’re dead right. The small print area of my machine doesn’t help, either.
