1:32 scale SPAD XIII C.1 of Frank Luke Jnr

Mike...

EXQUISITE Diorama with EXEMPLARY and EXCEPTIONAL scratchbuilding and SUPERB detailed build.

what I LOVE about it  is that you have an eye for detail about the aircraft and  the mechanic and things lying around  on the grass.

{I guess you being an ex  propulsion technician, you will have used that in your Diorama ).

:clap2:

BEAUTIFUL base too.

KUDOS on a OUTSTANDING  Diorama and build.

Hi Matt

The first models I made did not have build logs but then I was asked if I'd start on future builds. So there are models on the site without build logs but all builds from now will have logs,

Mike

Hi all,
Many thanks for the encouraging comments - they go long way to keeping the motivation going.
I'm doing a float plane next as I want to try resin water effects on a larger scale - we'll see,

Mike

This would be amazing OOB, but that you scratch-built so much makes me hate you intensely, haha! :P

Seriously, you scratch-build guys make the rest of us look so bad! Nifty job.

I agree-that amount of re-work especially for the engine detail, for a basically accurate kit tells me maybe why WnW is reluctant to even touch one.

That's a very impressive build.  Your extra work has really lifted this kit into something very special.  Looking forward to your next build.

Cheers,

Michael

Hi all,
I forgot to bookmark the various parts of the PDF build log on my site.
I've replaced the build log now with a fully booked copy.
You can select the required bookmark now in a PDF reader, such as Adobe DC,

What a treat to look at Mike!

I love the figures and how they have been painted. On that note, the hand painted camouflage and patina on the SPAD are excellent too.

I have had the occasion in the build thread to say how much I love your work.

Reason more to say how fantastic the end result is. Aboslutly gorgeous vignette ! Good job !

Somehow I missed this, and just want to pay respect to an amazing build of one of my favorite aircraft and pilots! What you’ve done is truly museum quality. Thanks for sharing your work.

Sincerely,  Tom
