blackbetty
i will construct the main parts first and then start detailing them these are the walls of the pit 009 by karl holubar, auf Flickr inserted into the fuselage they give the front part the needed strenght. lower part is the wheelwell/gun compartment 008 by karl holubar, auf Flickr Edited July 13, 2018 by blackbetty LSP_Kevin, sandokan, MikeC and 5 others

blackbetty
for finding the right spot to fix the wings i think i will construct a spar that also fixes the dihedral of the wings. so next i cut out the wings and the main wheel wells. the wells will be boxed in for strenght and to have a locating point for the spar 010 by karl holubar, auf Flickr Out2gtcha, sandokan, Gazzas and 6 others
blackbetty
wings and fuselage temporarily joint. there is a locating spar inside and a bulkhead in the middle to keep everything square. glue is now drying overnight, then i will drill locating pins into the wings from the inside 011 by karl holubar, auf Flickr 012 by karl holubar, auf Flickr Alain Gadbois, MikeMaben, Hubert Boillot and 9 others

blackbetty
back to this one. after figuring out how to join the main parts i will concentrate on scribing this thing. the outer wing profile has been altered with miliput to make it look more like the real thing 013 by karl holubar, auf Flickr 014 by karl holubar, auf Flickr still have to work on the trailing edge MikeC, BradG, LSP_Kevin and 5 others

blackbetty
its not as complicated as you think, you just have to plan ahead and live with some shortcuts boxing in the wheelwells 015 by karl holubar, auf Flickr sandokan, LSP_Kevin, MikeC and 6 others
blackbetty
kicking around ideas how to scribe the fuselage, i decided to join the halves before scribing. before i can do that i have to fabricate the intake trunking and engine faces. these are pretty much burried up way inside the fuselage and the intake has a noticeable bend upward so i found some plastic pipe of the right size and epoxied it in, being careful not to cover up the little auxiliary intake on the inner side 017 by karl holubar, auf Flickr Gazzas, LSP_Kevin, Starfighter and 5 others
blackbetty
the faces are mig 15 parts from the trumpy kit with a 125lb bomb as the inner nose and some sheet for the little wings the pipe tapers downward for the engine to sit in the axis of the fuselage 016 by karl holubar, auf Flickr Edited September 14, 2018 by blackbetty Starfighter, Out2gtcha, LSP_Kevin and 4 others

blackbetty
upon looking at scribing options it dawned to me that the intakes of the vac are not even close to the shape of the real thing, so i broke out the miliput and tried to reshape them first try 18 by karl holubar, auf Flickr 19 by karl holubar, auf Flickr not satisfiying, second try, we will see how i can sand this to shape: 20 by karl holubar, auf Flickr Edited September 20, 2018 by blackbetty Out2gtcha, AEROPOXY, Starfighter and 7 others
