quang Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) Hi guys and gals, I'm contemplating building another P-51D this time from the Pacific or China theater. I know there were some differences in equipment – notably radio and navigation – between the machines used in Europe and those used on the Pacific front. I can also use some input about the F-6D/K recce variant. Will you Mustang fans and experts care to give me some pointers? Thanks a bunch, Quang Edited June 9, 2018 by quang
quang Posted June 9, 2018 Author Posted June 9, 2018 Thank you Marus. It' s a good start but I'd rather concentrate on the D version. I'm still working on the Checkertail Mustang but am thinking of the next project. ;-)
Vandy 1 VX 4 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Pick up the Tamiya 1/32 scale Pacific Theater version Mustang it has everything you need even for the Recon version!!! quang and LSP_K2 2
quang Posted June 9, 2018 Author Posted June 9, 2018 Pick up the Tamiya 1/32 scale Pacific Theater version Mustang it has everything you need even for the Recon version!!! Excellent idea but this next time I'll try to do it in 1:48. I know it's a blasphemy to some of you but it'll be a new challenge to me cramming 1/32 details in a smaller package. Vandy 1 VX 4 1
Vandy 1 VX 4 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 As in 48th Hesagwa did a Pacific bird but it's not Recon if I recall quang 1

Vandy 1 VX 4 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 They're not dumb questions some people have a life and there's people like me that can just remember all the kits that came out. quang and CANicoll 2
Dave Williams Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 You can the instructions for the Tamiya 1/32 D/K kit here. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10199450 The F-6A is option C in the instructions. Tamiya's instructions are also good about labeling what things are.
Guest Maxim Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 I have the Tamiya P-51D/K and others are correct, everything included to do the F6 version. I plan a Korean war recon P-51 for mine.
