Hi all!

I have loaded up with references…

As usual I build as much as possible before I have to paint, even if that means hopping around in the instructions a lot.

This time I started with the centersection of the wings….

Despite all errors in the kit, the wheelwells are correct.

Time to assemble the cockpit which is very well detailed.

The engine is a little marvel, a very well detailed little P&W R-2800 (as long as I have choosen the correct parts)

Some instrument and radioequipment…

The center line tank and bombs….

I think I´ll use the tank, but not the bombs., but we´ll see later.

I suppose not....

But in the SAMI Datafile (written by Tom Cleaver) It´s said that all F6F-5´s were delivered with the zero-lengths stubs in place, so I don´t really know.

I just glued it all together as I usually do, just for the fun of it, those will go in the spares box, I suppose.

Cheers! :)

I recently built the -3N version, and all that radio equipment is invisible once you seal up the fuselage. Just as well, as one of them came loose inside mine just after I had it all sealed up, and now my plane doubles as a baby's rattle.

Perhaps better leaving them out, then? :D

Hi all!

Gear reduction housing (Spelling?) painted Hu.40 Aircraft Grey and details picked out in Hu.85 Satin Black.

28557727627_f39a0600ce.jpg

I had to fill small sinkmarks at the roots on the backside on the blades.

28557738227_d24d26654a.jpg

The wings are assembled and I have decided for a clean aircraft so no bombs or rockets.

I filled the holes in the wings with styrene in a suitable diameter, cut them off and sanded smooth.

The new, beautiful wheels from Barracudacast were released from the moulding blocks and cleaned up.

These wheels are fantastic, moulding and detail incredible!

Horizontal stabilizators assembled…

Landing gears assembled…..

More to come soon….
