Guest Maxim
God situation awareness on the pilot considering how many hours he has in the P-51.His overall experience as a long haul pilot would of coursed helped. Anyone notice the wings on his aircraft are puttied? Check out about 29 seconds in.
ringleheim
Very interesting video and conversation, thanks for posting. He mentioned the "whistle" that the gun ports make when the aircraft is at a certain angle of attack, heard usually just before touching down. Didn't know a P-51 makes that sound! dennismcc
Great video, it certainly shows off the skill and professionalism of the pilot, no injuries to the pilot or bystanders and comparatively minimum damage to the aircraft, a great result. Is there an article somewhere showing the progress of the rebuild of the P51. Cheers Dennis
Guest Clunkmeister
The rudder didn't look damaged until It was on the trailer, either.
