Recommended Posts

Good luck!

I'm doing the Keto diet, and reading on forums a lot of Keto dieters fast on occasion to help with the weight loss.  One lady posted she is on a 30 day fast with only liquids. No way man, couldn't do it!

I’m wishing you four weeks of blessings, 30 days of clemency and 720 hours of enlightenment.

Airfixer.... in a way you have it nailed.

See Ramzan is all about "ibadat" ... praying for yourself and your loved ones; praying for those lesser fortunate than yourself and for the hungry and poor in health... for those who have pasded on and for all mankind of every race ,color and creed- So in a way Ibadat is enlightening and soul searching.

Thank you for your intuitive comment.

..

Thank you Tim... Good job it's NOW and not when I am over in Phoenix.... :frantic:

Can you imagine what that would be like {although I have Fasted in temperatures of 100 + degrees centigrade in India}.

Thanks .... :)

Hi Maru,

So basically no eating or drinking of any kind between sunrise and sunset?

For 30 consecutive days?

Good luck!  That is not easy to do.

Yes... not easy. One has to be disciplined ,strong willed and not be easily distracted by food or water it both!

IT'S quite a great way for the new cells to generate and body cleansing!

:hmmm:

Better you than me, Maru, that's for sure. Good luck with it.

I have a friend that supposedly gives up some much desired items during Lent, but I suspect he actually gives up stuff that's really not that important to him to begin with.

..

Ah yes LENT.... :)

That's what many do when they do LENT but at one TIME LENT was same as RAMDHAN.

Thanks for your Good Wishes..

I Think with you all cheering from the sidelines has already boosted MY Morale and will do it EASILY.

I have several close friends preparing for the same. Wishing you a Merry Ramadan and very festive Eid.

Ron

Ron... so you'll know how it is... sometimes one feels lethargic but inner strength gets you to the end of each day...

Then at end of 30 days the EID-UL- FITR.

That is quite a feast but WE still remember the needy and poorer folk by donating one third of our salary/savings/wealth to the poor and needy.

If you are not so well off etc ; then WE donate WHAT WE can in way of grain and food

Thanks for your good wishes.

Considering how much food you've brought to shows Maru - fasting must have its challenges!  ;)

Peace be upon you as well Maru.

Iain

Thank you..

Shaka thank you.

Any one determined enough to accomplish anything in life can do what I am doing.

You are a great friend.

Also mindset is all geared up too!

Hope you are doing good Den...

Thanks ..

Blimey, gets earlier every year?

Yes it does. You noticed that... as our Calendar is based on Lunar months it will be a different date and (ENGLISH/Julian month) month...

We are in the year 1439 .... 15th Century... 6 centuries behind you all..

No wonder I am techie ignorant.

Still using papyrus here!!!

Have a lovely day ..

Good luck, Mate. 18 and a half hours without water must be quite a strain on the system....

Yep.... it IS!!! I CAN hear MY Body gurgling as if I am hungry...

Body can live without water for a day so no big hardship even if the temperature is hot...

But rest assured I will fro k lots of water when I do Iftari-break fast.

KETOGENIC diet or eating the KETO way is actually lowering your carb intake to say 50 grams of low carb food intake. You lose weight but the body still needs fat and water..

just water is quite dangerous and the Internal organs Still need fat and carbs(low) to function.

If you go on a KETOGENIC diet and eat LOW carb high fat FOODS YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT.

FAT stored or fat eaten is used in muscle energy hence YOU lose weight.

Cut out SUGAR.. sugaŕy drinks... and eat plenty of vegetables (grown above ground have low carb content. Vegetables grown below ground like potatoes have high carb content and turns that starch into sugars to spike blood sugar level etc... stay o low carb high fat ..no sugar diet ... your type 2 diabetes will be REVERSED ..).

Keto diet does advocate sensible eating and fasting.3-2 or 2-4..

If you have never fasted try a half day...

And GOOD luck Scott.
