Yesterday, I was playing with the cooling system in my Fox and was shocked how crude and backdated the whole thing is, and if I remember correctly fox body kicked in around 1979 as a parallel to modern European compacts. (...)

The Chernobyl ESCORT was delivered without headlights - it glowed brightly in the dark.  ;)

Can't show a pic of my car.don't own one.have a big RAM crew with the BIG Hemi. But my wife Donna drove a mustang for a few years..like she stole it.

My son Will however, drives a white VW GTI turboR...never in my wildest dreams did I ever think a VW would cost close to 50K..

My first car ever back in my days as a student was a 500.00 VW .loved it.well it was a lot better than the bus.

I actually have a few pics of my cars over the years, but that drive is somewhere in storage, so apologies for the internet photos.

First car: 1970 Plymouth Duster 340

ZNz6Pa.jpg

It was my dad's actually, he used it as a loaner car for his customers (he owned a Mobil station).  3/4 Cam, factor headers, Carter Thermoquad 4 barrel Carb.  I'd LOVE to find one these days...

I sold that and got a 80 VW four door Rabbit for college.  Red vinyl interior.  In Florida.  But it was cheap!

From that, got this little beauty: 1983 Mazda RX-7 GSL.  Tan interior. I kept the engine compartment so clear you could eat out of it.

Actually was going to a dealer to buy a pick up truck when I saw this car. Got me my wife who was with me for almost 30 years, and I LOVED driving that car through the California mountains.   THAT was fun to drive.  On one of my mountain blasts in the Santa Cruz Mountains, I completely glazed the brake rotors (a beautiful blue color!) rat racing down the mountain.  Memories....

Then to something more sensible when the two boys came along.  1997 Infiniti I30t  Really needed that back seat for the baby car seat. and the trunk..

Once ice hockey hit, and all those long trips, time to get something a lot bigger, and more comfortable.  This was one of the nicest driving and riding vehicles I've ever owned.  And carried 7 people comfortably., or 6 and a ton of gear. 2002 Yukon Denali XL

But if it got 12 MPG you were LUCKY

This came next and 22 on a trip was a god send.

2007 Nissan Pathfinder

But sometimes you need a change and I have opted for something that seats 4 very comfortably, gets 34MPG on the highway, but is also a 6 speed manual, twin-turbo joy to drive:

2018 Subaru WRX Limited.

That's it for now!f
