MikeMaben
Recently I looked at my bench and thot "this is holding me up and I'm not having any fun lookin' at it ". I bot a new little set of drawers and put most of it away ... Ah, that's better ... Then I opened a new kit and all this stuff fell out ... ...so I decided to go ahead and get some glue and paint out ... I also have an old Tamiya kit of this plane that I planned to build as a -5 anyway and thot, why throw those nice -10+ parts out ? ...then I decided to fix the canopy so it would sit lower in the back. I set it on the fuselage so the end of the canopy was at the end of the slot . The area I needed to sand down was marked with a pencil. So now I'm having some fun again I wonder how it will turn out Back later ... Troy Molitor
Mike, I noticed your acrylic model stand in one of your pictures. There was a recent discussion on these stands a few days or weeks back. How do you like the stand? Where did you pick it up? I need one, but I don't like the wood stands all that much. They seem a bit cheap. (Just my personal observation). Thanks for sharing where you got it. Is it a 1:48/ 1:32 combination stand? Thanks Troy . Gigant and MikeMaben

If I got it right, it might have been bought from an independent supplier named John who features them on this website: http://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/index.php?cPath=21_162 When I called he answered his phone promptly, was very helpful, they ship priority and take PayPal. MikeMaben
Hey Troy , Tom's right, I got it at the same place most of the wooden ones come from (I have the biplane wooden stand too). Oddly, the plastic one is less expensive than the wooden one. http://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/product_info.php?cPath=21_162&products_id=7043& osCsid=11bbfd8d363704709681967f2ad112d1 Another oddity is the plastic one doesn't have a nose piece so I bought the upgrade set (which is just more braces) http://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/product_info.php?cPath=21_162&products_id=7396&osCsid=11bbfd8d363704709681967f2ad112d1 His site says they are sold out but I ordered it anyway and it showed up about 10 days later. I think the 1/48 set is the same anyway. Nice makeover of the workspace, the paint rotunda is a damn good idea.......can never find the right one without decanting the whole draw Hi Phil , the large one I got online. It's called a Paintier paint carousel and it's about $50. The smaller one I found at Walmart for $11. Hey Mike. Where did you buy that small chest of drawers? Never mind Mike. Did a search and found them at Amazon. Yep, that's where I got mine too. Troy Molitor

MikeMaben
Well, with all the nice weather we've been having here in the great NW, it's not always easy to belly up to the bench, 'but'. I have been having fun with this one with only a one (so far) little bump in the road. I couldn't get the port wing halves to fit without applying any pressure (like the starboard wing does). I discovered the bottom of the main spar was bumping into the casting bulges on the bottom bottom half where the ammo ejector ports are. First I thot I'd just carve away the obstuction ... It still kept bumping so I thot it better to just move the spar out of the way since the outer portion was not visible and not all that funtional ... That did the trick and now there's no pressure required for a perfect fit of the wing halves. Having fun with this and keep telling myself "Don't fret it , just move on" Weeee ... Hacker
Question. Are you going to use the horizontal stabilizer parts from the Tamyia kit? If so are you willing to part with the Revell tail parts? Hacker MikeMaben
MikeMaben
Question. Are you going to use the horizontal stabilizer parts from the Tamyia kit? If so are you willing to part with the Revell tail parts? Hacker Sorry no can do. The Revell stabs fit perfectly into the Tamiya tail. I want to use as many Revell parts as I can. So far the Tamiya parts I'll be using are the tail halves, IP, flaps (I'll be using the AMUR flaps for the Tamiya when I build it, didn't wanna deal with the depressions in the Revell flaps if I didn't 'have' to), and the K-14 gunsight. All I have to do is get off my duff and get my fingers moving. Shoggz and Bruce_Crosby
