Fred Jack
Does anyone know which 1/32 Fokker E.V/ D.Vlll is better, the Mikro-Mir, or the Battle Axe.
Hubert Boillot
My understanding is « scratchbuilt » is easier and faster to build than Battleaxe ... Hubert Edited April 7, 2018 by MostlyRacers LSP_K2
LSP_Mike
Mikro mir by far.
vince14
Mikro-Mir by a long, long margin. It's not WNW by any means, and not even really Roden level, but the Battle Axe kit is awful. Rick Griewski
seiran01
MikroMir is the Avis kit re-released, nicer than the Battle Axe. See my review on LSP: http://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=1899 I highly recommend the Aviattic and Pheon decal sets to make this a jaw dropper, as well as Aviattic's corrected/detailed resin engine cowl. Because I have too much time on my hands and love the plane, I also did reviews on the decal options, haven't done reviews on the resin yet though but can send you a pic or two if you want to see them Aviattic templated fabric/wood decals - http://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=1970 Pheon decal sheets - http://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=1929 Uncarina and bstachel

seiran01
Do not, under ANY circumstances whatsoever, buy any Battleaxe kit. Couldn't agree more - cannot emphasize that statement strongly enough unless there is literally no other option and you absolutely positively must have that plane in that scale. Fred Jack
Thank you everyone. The reason I asked is that when it first came out I bought a Battle Axe and it's been sitting in my stash. I will build it anyway, but it looks like with Aviattic and Pheon's decals, it will be MicroMir for me. I just didn't care for MicroMir's choices of markings. Thank you Pheon and Aviattic. bstachel
Fred Jack
I wonder if the Aviattic EV/DVlll decals will even fit the Battle Axe model?
seiran01
Well, the aviattic set comes with two complete sets, so you could certainly try it without risking losing your money if they don't fit. Give it a go!

A battle axe is what you will need to complete that kit. Had it along with two copies of the Avis kit, and one of the MicroMir kit. No comparison as stated above. the BA DVIII is a truly awful kit. LSP_Ray
I wonder if the Aviattic EV/DVlll decals will even fit the Battle Axe model? From my review of the Avis kit, the Battle Axe kit is smaller both in overall length and wingspan, so the decals should cover it?

Spoilsports - why should I be the only one to suffer! And... if I hadn't finished my BA D.VII, WNW would never have released theirs
