tomprobert
Looking good - I love seeing a Fortress coming together! A little bit of nit-picking, but the solid floor beneath the bombardier’s seat was actually clear plexiglass on WWII B-17s. Many warbirds have solid floor panels now (I imagine for safety reasons when carrying passengers) but the wartime-era Forts has this clear so that it was easy to look down into the turret mechanism. And don’t forget that that wartime B-17s were natural metal inside, with only exposed metal in the cockpit area being painted Bronze Green. Anyway, keep up the good work! Tom nmayhew and D.B. marauderdriver
Great work so far Sir. PE makes me crazy, which is why I didn't use it. Do you have any photos of the ammo boxes for the ball turret, my understanding is they are inside the turret. The only pics I can find are for the B-24 that attach to the turret support. I can still fix mine as the fuselage is still unglued, Thanks jack Martinnfb

That was unique to the B-24, so any visible ammo cans on the B-17 is inaccurate. I can't find the photos that support that at the moment, but trust me, no external ammo cans on the B-17 ball turret. marauderdriver
tomprobert
Lovely metal work - it certainly does add some finesse in this scale. Just don't go and plaster interior green all over it And @Avenger2614 is absolutely correct - no wartime B-17s were fitted with the external ammunition cans. They're often seen on warbirds, but WWII-era Forts had all ammo stored inside the turret itself. Looking forward to more!
