Updating Revell's 32nd AH-64A to ODS standards?

Gentlemen,

As my 72nd and 48th scale collection dwindles into the low double digits, my 32nd scale collection and "future project" list continues to grow. One potential aircraft on the list is an AH-64A from Desert Storm. Does anyone have a good run down on what needs to be done to the Revell kit to bring it up to date for the ODS time frame?

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Dave

I'm not an Apache expert but I thought the ODS vintage-64's were just baseline A-models. All the later mods came into play much later. Honestly, I'm not sure if the A's saw many mods before they were phased out of active component service.

I think you at least need the wire strike protection stuff and IR jammer, which came in the Flightpath and Verlinden detail sets.

Cobra Company made an update set for the kit with MWS and laser sensors also, but I think that may have been for post-ODS.

One nice upgrade for the kit is the Master Models cannon and tail antenna set.

Me too although I'd like to do a Brit one some day. I have the brass gun set and of is very neat, but makes the rest of the gun look a bit plain! I'd pass on anything in 1:35 though......

where can we find this set? it seems out-of-stock everywhere... I also have the revell apache in my stash

Cobra Company shut down a few years ago. Lone Star Models bought the molds and has been slowly reissuing some of the CC sets, but I don't know if they've reissued this one yet. If LSM doesn't have, have to go to ebay or traders board.
