Anyone score any great deals recently?

Recommended Posts

Not really on the modelling hobby. But on the other hand, i have a great deal with a guy for building two models for a very nice HGU-55/P with MBU-12/P. So at the moment i'm back into 1/48 modelling.

As mentioned in another thread, I got four 32nd Avionix F/A-18C cockpits and a decal sheet from squadron for $15 (plus $10 for shipping), then scored a Tamiya 32nd F4U-1A for $65.00 shipped!

In the mail from Sprue Brothers are Aries cockpit and bronze gear for the T-28, Fly Hurricane Mk.l Trop, Sea Venom seats from AMS, and bronze gear for the '109 with 30% off. Used all the savings with the free postage to buy a WNW Eindecker kit (Clunkmeister said we better buy the early kits). SB discount is now at 40%. The G-Factor bronze is the gift with the discount and they have a large number in stock. These buggers seem to be hard to find at the moment.

Still waiting for it to arrive, but got a brand new Rotring airbrush with spare needle and rings for 62.50 € plus shipping :frantic: .

If no one has ever seen these, they are OOP, but an amazing piece of design (and precision) ...

They started life as the Conopois airbrush before being bought, than sold-off again, by Rotring.

Congrats! Great looking tool. I recommend finding another spray tip sooner than later.

I have a Rotring ballpoint pen I am rather fond of.  Didn't know they dabbled in the airbrush industry for a while!

That's an interesting design there.  Looks like high quality stuff.

I see the airbrush was made in "W. Germany"!

I have a friend with an old Schuco model toy car.

On the bottom it says "Made in US Zone, Germany" on it!

Just got in the mail my $20 Bf110E-2 from DragonUSA with free shipping!

OK, had to buy three AFV models to get that, but still a smoking deal.

Specifics: 1/35 Type 4 Jap Light tank: BOGO sale price $48, regular price: $60 (although now it is on different sale for $40)

1/35 German Ambulance Truck (Opel Blitz): BOGO sale price $45, regular price: $65 (now on diff sale for $40)

1/35 StuG IIIG with Zimmerit & Concrete armor: BOGO sale price $20, regular price: $80 (now on diff sale for $40)

        1/32 Bf110E-2: BOGO sale price $20, regular price $110

So no matter how you look at it, was a good deal!

That was a smoking deal on those armor kits, Ray! I picked up the reissue of the old 1/32 Revell M4A1 Screaming Mimi kit on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $7.50 US. Not an LSP, but the right scale at least. I've been wanting to work on my rusty weathering skills with the Vallejo paint set I picked up around Christmas, and that seems a good test bed.

Bar one maybe two, over here in the UK I can’t think of any retailers having those sorts of reductions and definitely BOGOF........

Calling all UK based people, please prove me wrong.......

I likewise got myself another Bf-110E-2 on Dragon's sale, but as I already had most of the armor on sale I ended up pairing it with a Bronco early Kfz 12 truck, for a total of $65.
