1to1scale
I just came across the new Hasegawa Zero and I'm getting an itch to build one. Are these the same perfect fit and quality that a lot of their other new kits? Rick Griewski and BiggTim
do335b6
It's stunning, I just finished one and the fit is superb, cockpit comes close to Tamiya in quality, Just make sure you don't use the kit decals.
modelingbob
Do you mean this one? It's a slam dunk build with no issues, and even the decals are good (those are the kit decals). I highly recommend it. I'd build another one, but unfortunately Japanese Zero schemes are pretty boring! K5IKL
I ditto the above. Just finished it last month and it is a jewel to build. I too used the kit decals and had zero problems with them. 1to1scale
yes, I am getting to be a Hasegawa snob, I don't need or want to build all the engine stuff, retractable landing gear, removable panels, etc of a Tamiya, so my Tamiya Zero sits in the closet, and I want the new one. I only wish they chose the earlier A6M2 which had a better selection of paint schemes. AdamR
LSP_K2
I've heard some good things about the kit.
Juggernut
Yes, it's a good kit. One thing I've found lacking in every A6M kit produced (including Tamiya) is the canvas tail wheel shroud that is very visible when the tail wheel is down (unless it's been removed). Hasegawa included it on their Raiden kits, why not the retooled A6M5c? Maybe the A6M5c was never produced with one? AdamR
It's the best of all the Hase new-tool kits, IMO, and I've built them all but the Ju-87. Just what a 1/32 aircraft kit should be. LSP_K2
AdamR
Agreed on the boring color schemes. Any color as long as it's green... I love Japanese WW2 fighters, but one of each is pretty much all I want, with almost identical schemes... Too true, alas. You can build '109s until you drop and not run out of interesting schemes. Japanese fighters? You're done after a couple, max. The differences are too minor and subtle to make new builds interesting after that.

I have a Tamiya Zero sitting in my closet, too! 😄
thierry laurent
A6M = 3 schemes. IJN gray, IJN green, USN captured. Not so simple! You forgot the gray and green combo such as the camouflaged A6M3s based in Rabaul... ;-)
