have Italian TF-104M ever carried Aspide missiles on the additional wing pylon typical of the S version? Anybody know?

No, they did not, nor did they have any of the extra pylons, or other S modifications.  In fact, the TF-104G-M modification removed any combat capability from the two-seater, including any weapons wiring, and removed weapons modes from the radar.  They were flying trainers only.

A more interesting point re this kit is  its RRP in the uk of £99.99 - I know discount  suppliers exist, but that is still far too steep for the  contents of the box.. or is that just me!

She’s going for a reasonable price here: https://www.axels-modellbau-shop.de/katalog/en/italeri-2509-lockheed-tf-104-g-starfighter-1-32.html

No association to this vendor other than it’s one of my preferred online-shops!

Cheers

That's Indeed a nice price, i saw at around 170 euro at a LHS end of August.
I want to build a TF-104 marineflieger  but with that price, resistance was easy :)
