Hi All!

At long last, after 22 ½ mths of work, I have finally finished this monster project and I would like to share some pics of the final results.  Although this kit fought me a few times, it was a fairly straightforward build and I have a long Work In Progress thread here at LSP if you want more details:

http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=60892

The aftermarket parts I finally wound up using where:

- Avionix F-15C Resin Cockpit, AV32023

- Aires F-15C Resin Cockpit, 2063 (used the best of both)

- Airscale Jet Cockpit Upgrade PE Bezels

- Airscale Dataplate and Warning Decals

- Airscale Modern Cockpit Decals

- GT Resin Seamless Intakes, Exhaust Tubes, Wheels and Screens

- Eduard F-15E Exterior, 32169

- Eduard F-15C Exterior, 32056

- Eduard F-15E ejection Seat, 32601

- Two Mikes F-15 Exhaust Nozzles (enhanced with Eduard PE above)

- Zactomodels AIM-9X Sidewinder

- AMS Resin ACMI Pod

- Wolfpack ELTA 8222 ECM Pod, WP32052

- Afterburner Decals, AD-48-007 (Includes 1/32 scale)

My only three comments to go with the pics are:

1)  I took several pics of this exact Eagle at Nellis AFB during 3 different air shows and it was always spotless- even the tires were shiny.  As a result, the weathering is minimal to match the real deal, other than a little staining on flaps and rudders that are common to all F-15's.

2)  The main landing gear on F-15C's toe out quit a bit, as evidenced by the last pic in this first post, so this is normal.

3)  "Bay 5", behind the cockpit, is usually green, but F-15's built from 1980 on are white.  As a result, this one (80-0010) is also white.

An aboslutely epic build, an exceptionl result, and an unequalled didactic approach throughout of the WiP thread ...

Everything to be loved here. I guess « Good Job ! » seems a bit lame, but on the other hand, can there be a greater compliment ?
