Thinning Tamiya X-22

Recommended Posts

Mr Color Leveling Thinner is just about the best thinner you can use with Tamiya Clear X-22. That's what I currently use to thin. Only one drawback is the smell as it's quite stinky!

i have been using Tamiya's own thinner, but let us know if you like the Mr Color thinner better. So far I have not found a clear gloss and flat I am happy with, yet, but I am still trying.

what did you use to coat your P-40? That had a very flat finish on it.

Nothing but paint. There are no decals on it.

I prefer Mr Levelling Thinner instead of Tamiya Lacquer Thinner for thinning X-22. The secret to a super glossy coat is to mist over a coat of straight Mr Levelling Thinner after you have applied the X-22 coat. Really turns the surface glass-like.
