Oldbaldguy
Ya know, if I'd tried to build this, the model would have looked less like a Tomcat and more like his work bench. Starfighter
wardog
Starfighter, Just caught up on this build; I really admire your work and simply an amazing job you're doing here. I'm a little late to the party but the extra work you put into the nose really paid off. Also, I agree that further refinement of the nose shape wasn't necessary as the reward may not have been worth the risk of any unwanted surprises. The painting is spot-on too! I like the technique you're using and will certainly use this build as reference when I start painting my current project. However, I do have a question; what brand masking agent are you using and what is your method for removal? I have a bottle of Ambroid liquid mask and I found it rather difficult to remove on the test subject I tried it on. Also, are the "Warm Gray" washes you're using as filters home made or brand name? Thanks and I appreciate any info you're willing to provide. -Elmo Starfighter
Starfighter
Elmo, sorry for replying so late! I use Mr Masking Sol which I remove with my venerable and proven Mk.1 fingertip™. The warm grey oil paint I use is from Schmincke. F-4Phanwell, A-10LOADER and HerculesPA_2
A-10LOADER
I second what Ben said about the Mr. Masking Sol. I used it, for the first time, on my last build, the A-6E TRAM Intruder. I used it on the two red belly anti-collision lights and the red light by the refueling probe, it worked great. Steve Starfighter
eagledocf15
What happened to this project? Thanks
Starfighter
The model made hard contact with the floor a few weeks ago... I have to put it aside for a while to gather motivation in order to repair the damage...
