LSP_K2 19,276 Posted September 22, 2018 Much as I'd suspected, in this big honkin' scale, supercharger intake will definitely be visible, so I'll go ahead and add a proper debris guard to it, and quite possibly a compressor face, assuming I can conjure up something appropriate. 3 Out2gtcha, Sparzanza and NukerDan reacted to this
LSP_K2 19,276 Posted September 22, 2018 One boo boo that I didn't discover until after the fact, was that the addition of an .010 shim to cowl panel front end, just ended up pushing the cowl backwards, creating larger gaps around the lower part of the panel. I've now shaved off that shim (not yet done in this photo though) and will just shim it at the rear, as that's where the biggest gap appears to be anyway. 3 LSP_Kevin, Out2gtcha and Sparzanza reacted to this

LSP_K2 19,276 Posted September 22, 2018 While I've seen that image before (I have it here on my computer somewhere), it doesn't appear that it was always installed (the center pipe that is). Thanks for providing it though. 1 MikeMaben reacted to this
LSP_K2 19,276 Posted September 23, 2018 The starboard engine panel has a small boo boo that needs to be corrected, so I'll be jumping on that soon. The same error exists on my K-4, which I just now verified. 1 Out2gtcha reacted to this
LSP_K2 19,276 Posted September 23, 2018 Upper radiator flaps have now had all 12 ejector pin marks smoothed over, using a combination of superglue and mister surfacer. I'll soon be ordering some Archer rivet decals (probably in October), and may well use some of them on the lower flaps, but probably not on these uppers; I'm still debating that. 4 Out2gtcha, Sparzanza, MikeMaben and 1 other reacted to this
LSP_K2 19,276 Posted December 5, 2018 The gorgeous Barracuda wheels now given some primer,... and paint. (Sorry about the darkness, but the tires are a pretty dark grey with very dark grey hubs.) 4 D.B. LSP_K2 19,276 Posted December 5, 2018 Fuel tank gets some surfacer; still plenty more to add though. 3 Out2gtcha, Sparzanza and LSP_Kevin reacted to this
LSP_K2 19,276 Posted December 5, 2018 Once I made the commitment to not bother with the main wheel wells (quite a relief, actually), upper wing halves are now secured in place and super glue being used to fix all seams and problem spots. 6 Out2gtcha, D.B. LSP_K2 19,276 Posted December 13, 2018 OK, more cheesy photos! Panel is now almost ready for paint, once I've cleaned up the ejector pin filler that is.
LSP_K2 19,276 Posted December 13, 2018 Main wheels now touched up with paint and smeared with some pastels. A few colored pencil marks and dried mud and they'll be good to go. 3 MikeMaben, 109 and LSP_Kevin reacted to this
Fvdm 239 Posted December 14, 2018 Nice build. Your wheels look great but the injector pins are on nasty places. Be carefull with sanding.

Oh yes, I've already removed dozens, with more to do. It's still a pretty neat kit though, in my opinion.
